Privacy policy

last updated 23 september 2026

Stubnote is a journal you keep for yourself and, if you like, share with a few people you invite. This policy explains what the app stores, why, and how to delete it. In short: we keep only what you put in, we don't sell it, we don't show ads, and we don't track you.

What we collect

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we don't collect contacts, browsing history or device identifiers for tracking.

Who can see it

Notebooks are private by default. A notebook you share can be read by the people in it, who can also see each other's names and scribbles. Nobody else can open it, and invite links work once and expire after 7 days. We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.

We use a few services to run the app, and they process data only on our behalf:

Keeping it safe

Data is sent over encrypted connections, and access rules in the database make sure only you and the people in a notebook can read it. Photos, videos and voice notes are served through short-lived private links.

How long we keep it

We keep your data until you delete it. Deleting a note removes it and its files. Deleting your account removes your account, your notebooks, the notes and files you added, and your scribbles, for everyone they were shared with. Backups held by our hosting provider roll over within 30 days.

Your choices and rights

Children

Stubnote isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app.
